Math Team

Math Team is a place where students meet to solve challenging math problems, learn new concepts under the guidance of Ms. Marton (Math Team advisor and math teacher), and participate in competitions. We practice Tuesdays after school by doing GBML (Greater Boston Math League) problems. Meets happen once a month, 5 months a season, then, possibly, the States meet in April. Meets often take place on Wednesdays and last a few hours but are purely optional. Math Team also hosts NEML, MAML, and AMC 10, which are optional math competitions. If you have a conflict, you can always leave at anytime, not show up for weeks, or come in late. It is a flexible club. During meets, there is always free food like chips, pretzels, and coke. At the end of the math team season, there’s a food party (with scallion pancakes), so you should join. Math team members are fun and friendly and like pranking Mr. Daniels(and have been known to sometimes mess with other teachers) whenever possible.
